Goat's cheese and beetroot are an excellent combination. Isn't it a bit pink? I cannot eat pink. Except for Prawns which are pale pink. Pink Blancmange is the devils food. We are having a salad which will include sliced beetroot au natural, goats cheese and cole slaw. We serve the beetroot on a separate plate, otherwise, you've guessed it, the cole slaw goes pink.

I've never had a beetroot risotto, but yes, I guess it must be pretty vibrant!
I like to have beetroot and goat's cheese salad as a starter sometimes - it's a fairly common vegetarian option on a lot of menus over here.
There's a saying among some of the poncey TV chefs that "you eat with your eyes first", but given that food presentation is not my strongest skill, that would be inadvisable Chez Williams - you'd go very hungry!

I adore beetroot. And its so easy to grow in the garden. We still have a couple of rows in the garden. I only like it simmered in the slow cooker though. I will deliberately cut a small slice together with a piece of goats cheese and let you know. I only hope that I can taste it though as my sense of taste and smell are virtually non existent these days.
I used to like a cheddar and beetroot sandwich but that's very pink too.

I had a good crop of beetroot this year, roasted fresh out of the garden...lurveley.
Goats cheese...nah.
Cheese and pickled beetroot sarnies...Mmmmmmmmmm, I'm getting hungry.

It's a deep red colour, almost brown. The goats cheese is on the top, so it stays pristine white.
Tea was beef Ragu, btw

I love picked beetroot with cheese on a sarnie but don’t like boiled beetroot. JB loves boiled beetroot but isn’t keen on it when it’s pickled

Monday is our walking day, well evening anyway, so I usually buy a £4 ‘too good to go’ bag from the Asda local that is within the petrol station, where the Armarda pu used to be (spaghetti junction if you don’t know it)
Tonight’s tea consisted of Chicken en croûte with a tomato, Parmesan and balsamic salad each.
We also got a bag of chopped onions, a packet of 4 Warburtons muffins, chicken slices and a packet of coriander
Not as good as usual but certainly worth £4
