Asthma review

So just had my asthma review, over the phone, from a pharmacist, through my GP

P: 'Have you ever been hospitalised because of your asthma?'. 

M: 'Errrr, you haven't read my notes have you?'

P: 'So you don't use your releaver as your asthma is well under control' 

M: 'Yes'

P: 'Would you like to go onto a different plan?.  Where you just have the steroid inhaler as a releaver and a preventative' 

M: 'No'

P: in a shocked voice 'oh why not?'

M: 'because steroid inhalers cost far more to produce than the ventolin (which is basically a water spray) and I carry one of those with me all the time.  I also have one in my desk drawer, one in my bed side cabinet and one in my car.  So I would have to have five, four of which I wouldn't use as my asthma is controlled'  'That would be a complete waste of NHS money'

You know what the cheeky cow said?  'Sounds to me like your wasting NHS money by having ventolin inhalers!!!'
