My weekend has started π
Thursday and Friday - lie-in, then clean and tidy the house, wash the car and fill the fuel tank, wrap Lily's birthday presents, do a bit of shopping, clean out the chickens and stock up their food hopper, minor repair to the chicken cage door, clean the walking boots, book the airport parking for later in the year and cook tea (Th only, we'll be at Jean's on F)
Saturday - early start, driving to the Kingdom of Fife, where we've booked to stay until Tuesday in Pittenweem (of course). Lily is driving down from Perth to meet us. Celebrate Lily's birthday with prosecco and Colin the Caterpillar cake, have a look around the Bowhouse (sadly not pronounced Bauhaus) which has a market, brewery and Indy record store. Meal at The Dory seafood restaurant in the evening. I may have mentioned this place before, but their main ingredients are landed at the harbour five metres from the front door. The food is FRESH.
Sunday - Crail. The most easterly of the fishing villages along the East Neuk and the best cafe around. Coffee, cake and probably get some art from there as well. Probably go to the West End Bar pub in the evening.
Monday - coastal walk to Elie, drinks and food in The Ship as the sun goes down over the Firth of Forth. Bliss. Back to Pittenweem either on their minibus or the regular bus service.
Tuesday - visit to St Andrews because they've got a Fat Face and a White Stuff and because BΓΆnkers has some great quirky stuff for gifts, then home.
Have a great weekend, folks.

Friday...
I was watching New Zealand v England Test match at 2.00am so decided to have a lie in. All was going well until there was a knock on the door. It was our Heating Oil so we have had 1500 litres delivered, and I might put an advert on Ebay to sell a kidney to pay for it.
Had a cuppa on the terrace in the sunshine then did a bit of work in the extension. But was not feeling too well. Now knocked off and mooching on the Internet. Chrissie meanwhile is having another battle with the UK Tax department as we are still paying income tax to both France and the UK on our pensions. And the basic rate of income tax in France is 10% higher than the UK. The swine in Newcastle owe us a fortune.
Charcuterie, Cheese and Salad for tea. Wine for me and a bottle of Gin for Chrissie. She is seething.
Saturday...
Watch more cricket. Hopefully do some work in the extension but my breathing is stopping me from doing much. At night my lungs fill with fluid and I spend all day coughing it up. Its been like this now for 3 years and I am constantly gasping for air. Might do a bit of tidying in the garden if I can as the fresh air helps.
Home made Chicken and Mushroom Pie for tea.
Sunday...
Pretty much the same as Saturday. See what I can manage to do.
Not sure what we are having for tea but it is more than likely to be Pork and Aubergine in Chinese Spices with Steamed Rice as we have Aubergines that need eating.
Monday...I think its about time I saw a Doctor.
Have a good one everybody.

Good to hear about the chicken and mushroom pie, but not so good about the need for a doctor...take care Anglais.
You can keep the aubergines though...I detest them...about the only veg I never eat.

Friday: The usual. Chicken curry from a 1980s edition of the Independent.
Saturday: The usual - rugby is away to Newton Abbot in the River Teign Derby. Posh spag bol, cheeseboard.
Sunday: The usual. Roast chicken for lunch.
Have a good one whatever you're doing.

I know a pub in Newton Abbott. Nearly wrote "good pub" then. π If you had said that I would have had to quarrel with you. However, a few years back it changed hands and is now a brew pub, brewing real ale rather than craft ale. To add a bit of spice to tomorrow's encounter, we played them at home on 12th November. Before KO in that match, they'd played 10, won 4 and drawn 1. We won that one with a last kick penalty 28-26. Their record now is: played 19, won 4 and drawn 1. In other words, they're on a 9 game losing run. Blues fans know what's going to happen next.
