Jerk Chicken with rice and peas
Ok, I had no idea what this was supposed to be like as I've never eaten the real thing, but I did enjoy the chicken. The rice was ok, but went a bit awry.
There was waaaay too much liquid in the rice as I'd cut the quantity of rice down from "serves 6" to "serves 2", but it still had a whole tin of coconut milk in it. As a result the rice was closer to a risotto than I was expecting, and I was surprised that "rice and peas" doesn't actually involve any peas - the recipe calls for red kidney beans, which I suppose are closer to black-eyes peas that petit pois are 😁
Anyway, 6/10 - one to improve
