Woohoo - long weekend Thursday evening - drove to Dawlish after work, arrived about 9pm TT’s step Dad has been told he can’t drive anymore due to his illness a few weeks ago - but guess what - he had a hospital appointment so drove - TT & I are buying the car off them & needed to do it sooner rather than later, due to him still driving it. It’s so sad as it’s their little bit if independence. It also means TT will come over when I’m at work to take them shopping & stuff Friday - not sure but I’m sure it’ll involve shopping Saturday - leave about 2pm so we can be home for the FA cup Saturday night - Chinese in the town with friends Sunday - BBQ with work colleagues to celebrate our apprentice passing her exams Have a good one everyone xx

Nothing planned for obvious reasons, except Sarah has a hypnotherapy session in Ottery St Mary this morning. Hoping to cook moussaka, provençal chicken and pork chops at some stage during the weekend and maybe watch my old cricket club Stokeinteignhead for an hour or so before the Cup Final tomorrow.

Today: leave Florence and head to Pisa by train. Photo-opportunity by the tower then head to the airport and home. Drop Tom at the station in the way back as he's off to London for the weekend. This has been a terrific break - I've loved being with the kids and we've all loved Florence. Jayne studied the Renaissance for a year at college and Lily studied art history and architecture so it's been like having two tour guides. 😁
Saturday: shopping with Jean, washing, relaxing
Sunday: heartbreakingly having to take Elanor and Lily to the station. Won't see Lily for ages now (though we've booked a break at the end of July in Pittenweem - yay!). Get ready to go back to work.

Tonight. After being here since Monday my granddaughter is being picked up by her dad about 5.30. No other plans Tomorrow. Plant swap at the allotment. This is the third one we have arranged and they are usually really well attended, by other plot holders and member of the public so looking forward to it. Tomorrow afternoon. Wedding dress shopping at 3pm! What a stupid time to try on big frocks just as the FA cup kicks off Tomorrow night. No plans Sunday. Electrician from work is coming to fit earth wires to my gas meter and water stopcock so that E-on can fit my EV charger on Thursday woohoo! I know I charge my car for free at work but I will feel much better knowing I can charge it at home too It's going to be a fairly quiet one for us this weekend

Friday...I spent a day in the garden weeding under black skies and rumbling thunder, but apart from a short light shower it came to nought.
Chilli and Rice for tea.
Saturday...Plant Haricot and Rocket seeds, Its a bit late but we are weeks behind where we should be. Get on line and try to order firewood again for the winter. I found a supplier who then said they will only drop it in the centre of the village as they cannot get their 12 metre long lorry in and out of our road. Also need to order 2 new snow tyres for the front of the car.
Two runs to the dump, I have 12 huge sacks of weeds in the garage. Hopefully watch the Cup Final if we can get ITV. Sometimes we can, some times we cannot. It depends on the weather and more storms are forecast for this afternoon. We cannot get BBC at all now it has gone HD.
Chrissie is getting on to Estate agents about a couple of houses we like the look of in the Haute Pyrenees. Both villages are around 1000 meters above sea level and are covered in snow for 6 months of the year. Brrrrrr.
Osso Buco for tea. Generally I do not eat veal as I dislike the texture, but this is wonderful.
Sunday...Plan tiling the floor of the extension and order the tiles. Put the Tomato frames up. Weed around the Cherry Tomato's and Pepper plants. We are being overrun with purslane again. Chrissie will have another quiet one as she has had a trapped nerve in her neck for a week now and is pretty incapacitated.
Volcanic Chicken Curry for tea with Fried Basmati.
Have a good one everybody.

Change of plan for Sunday. Its La Fete de Brebis in Requista and its a celebration of all things sheep. Its the same each year but good fun none the less. We are just praying that the Young Farmers do not dress up as Tranny Majorettes again. youtu.be/J_ZbBPAn7kA

Thank you Will, they seem in good spirits, think MIL is going to miss the car more, she was a bit shocked that I changed ownership over on my smart phone, she thought it would take weeks & he could still drive it - she doesn’t understand that by driving, whether he has MOT, TAX & insurance, he driving illegally. Anyway it’s done now & all the neighbours have sad they’ll take them shopping 🛒 Hope the hypnotherapy session goes well xx
