weekend plans

Friday...We were up early to get some gardening done before the deluge. I raked the new vegetable bed I had transformed from jungle on Thursday. Chrissie sowed two rows of dwarf beans, and carrots and beetroot while I had a general tidy up. We finished just as the heavens opened. The deluge thankfully ended up as just rain for half an hour or so.

Belly Draft in hot Chilli Sauce, Peas, Sweetcorn and Couscous for tea.

Saturday...A wander down to the Builders Yard cum Garden Centre for vegetable seeds. Call in at the shop on the way back for some odds and ends. I will spend a couple of hours working in the extension, gardening has taken over for the last couple of weeks. A couple of runs to the dump with garden rubbish while Chrissie prepares tea.

Home made Pizza's for tea.

Sunday...Put the tomato plants in. Transform a bit more jungle for the Winter Cabbage and Squash plants which are ready to go in. Fill more bags with garden rubbish ready for the dump on Monday. The dump only opens for a couple of hours on Saturday and Monday afternoon which is a bummer. Chrissie will be house hunting on line. This is getting frustrating. All the houses we like have gardens the size of a football pitch, or in some cases several football pitches. We only have 500 square metres which is getting too much for us in our dotage. Its not so much the physicality as the time. Its a full time job from March to October in our fight against the weeds.
