The world cup is up and running and I've watched a fair bit of it.
I'm confused about the foul play aspect, seems a wee bit inconsistent. I was more than suprised at the yellow card Tom Curry recieved was uograded to a red. To me it seemed a simple clash of heads and a yellow semed harsh.
There have been other instances that seemed as bad if not worse and nothing has been given. Tghe yellow card given to the Argentinian guy, he made no attempt to block the clearing kick and plainly body checked the England player, yes the yellow was fully deserved, but it was not considered worthy of a red.
He has now got to go before a displinary commitee to revue the offence.
Oh I do hate it when "committes" get involved with sport.
On the bright side there has been some great scores.
Good to see the drop goals coming back into fashion, give the defences something else to think about.
Drop goals have always been good to England in the past.
