Are you still planning to go to the Good Intent? My mate Matt and his lad are having yours and George's tickets. We'll be in the usual train.
Anyway: Friday - getting all the decorations out of the garage, meeting Jayne on her way home from work to buy a tree, tea at Jean's, put the tree up, bath, telly.
Saturday - I'll go to the footy and meet a mate and his lad on the way - haven't seen him since I moved from Leyburn Avenue 9 or 10 years ago. Jayne will take her mum shopping then decorate the tree. I'll do the rest if the house on Monday. (This is all very early this year as next Friday is Jayne's Love Actually Night, when I hide as the boss and her mates watch the film and drink astonishing quantities of Bailey's.)
Sunday - off to Liverpool to meet up with Jac, then Jayne and I are going to Liverpool Philharmonic to see the Bootleg Beatles.
Have a good 'un, all!

Friday: Went and bought a tree first thing, then got the deccies out of the loft. Sam and Katie arrived around 4 then we went down to the Blue Anchor for a couple of pints before picking up a Chinese meal, then stuffing ourselves silly and drinking some more.
Saturday: Sam and Katie decorated the tree in the morning, then I went off to watch the Teigns play rugby while Sarah went down town with S and K. In the evening we had "Light Up Saturday" in the street where all the neighbours come out and view each others external decorations, drink mulled wine and talk to each other for the first time in 12 months. After that Katie cooked a fantastic lasagne and more drinks were consumed.
Today: This will be a sad day in more than one respect. Firstly S and K will be going home and we won't see them again until the New Year. Then this evening I'll be going down the rugby club to have a drink with the family and friends of Malcolm, who I may have mentioned occasionally, and who sadly died last Tuesday. I used to travel to away matches with Malcolm, and we worked together on the match day programme and all sorts of other things at the club. He only came to Teignmouth about 8 years ago, but he did more for the club than many of the folk who've been members for 40 years or more. It was a year ago this week that I gave him a lift to the hospital for his gastroscopy and he was given the news that he had incurable cancer and maybe only three or four months to live, so he beat the odds and got an extra nine months or so. I shall miss him greatly.

Firstly Will, I am so sorry for the loss of such a dear friend x Secondly, I am crying with happiness at the wonderful weekend you have both had, it really sounds like Sarah has turned a massive corner. Much love to you both xxx

Much love to you both xxx Thank you K - it really has been a morale booster, and it encouraged me to get my arse in gear to sort out presents and so on so that Christmas this year should be a lot less stressful than in previous years. And thank you all for your support in the past few months - both Sarah and I are very lucky to have such great friends, and even though we all live so far away from one another, your friendship is very real and very comforting.

When Karoline sat in my kitchen this morning and read this out I got real goosebumps. We both teared up hearing what a lovely weekend you have had, with Sam and Katie, as well as getting out chatting to your neighbours about the decorations. What a lovely tradition. It definitely sounds like Sarah has turned a corner and I keep my fingers crossed that this is true xxx We both think so highly of you two and send much love xxxx
